{"id":1647,"date":"2015-04-16T08:51:14","date_gmt":"2015-04-16T12:51:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/marcsworld.ca\/wp\/?p=1647"},"modified":"2015-10-02T11:19:48","modified_gmt":"2015-10-02T15:19:48","slug":"long-ago-and-far-away-viii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marcsworld.ca\/wp\/?p=1647","title":{"rendered":"Long Ago and Far Away VIII"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Long ago in a different life I\u00a0spent a year as a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chef_de_partie\">chef de partie<\/a> at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fairmont.com\/lake-louise\/\">Chateau Lake Louise<\/a>. \u00a0In my off time I took full advantage of being young and in good shape and with camera in hand i did a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pc.gc.ca\/eng\/pn-np\/ab\/banff\/activ\/randonee-hiking\/~\/media\/pn-np\/ab\/banff\/activ\/randonnee-hiking\/lakelouise\/LakeLouiseArea_Map_V.ashx\">LOT of hiking<\/a>. \u00a0Ill be posting the images from those hikes over the next few days. \u00a0All images taken in 1992-1993.<\/p>\n<p>these are the final set of the series. \u00a0sometimes i find it hard to believe that these are 22 years gone. \u00a0at times, it feels like yesterday, sometimes it feels like it was just a long strange dream that you awake from with a longing in your heart. \u00a0at this stage of my life, with all i know i have in front of me, i doubt ill ever get back to these mountains much less be able to live there, and that, honestly, pains my heart more than \u00a0anything i have thought of for a while. \u00a0it hurts in a way that losing a parent, being fired, or divorcing ever did. \u00a0how weird is that?
